Welcome to The Taste of Kosher! I’m ElissaBeth and I am a foodie living in Jerusalem.

I created The Taste of Kosher in 2018 as a way to share easy and delicious recipes which wished I could find online.

When creating The Taste of Kosher I also decide that, in addition to having kosher and dairy free recipes, all my recipes would be easy and use ingredients everyone has access to.

My belief is, you shouldn’t have to be a trained chef to make a cake you can be proud to serve your family.

I am recently learning just how much dairy is an issue for me.  I was kinda sad at first because all of my lovely recipes call for dairy but you give me so much hope now!

I couldn’t bake to save my life when I came upon your recipe for banana muffins. I made them and they were perfect. Then I made them again as banana bread and it was divine. Then I tried your chocolate cake and it was amazing! My family are blown away that I have become a decent baker overnight. I laugh when I think how many times I attempted banana bread and it was awful! Thanks so much.

Growing up in New York, the food culture capital of the world, I was frustrated by not being able experience the international foods that were available to the non-kosher public.

When I moved to Israel in 2015, I was thrilled to finally be enjoy authentic cultural cuisine brought by immigrants like myself. However, once I began master’s degree, I realized I could not always afford to indulge in the cost.

I searched for recipes for some of my favorite dishes but found few if any of them in English – let alone kosher or dairy free versions. Then I noticed it was hard to find even classic desserts made dairy free.

So, at my Mom’s suggestion, I decided to fill the gap in the kosher and dairy free recipe worlds.

I just want to say thank you! I am a fearful baker- I can only manage boxed brownies, usually baking with a recipe makes me stressed. I told myself that I would attempt cookies and as a dairy free person its sometimes hard to find dairy free recipes. Thank you for allowing me to enjoy baking!

Since starting The Taste of Kosher, I’ve found one of the things I like most is connecting with my readers. I enjoy hearing how their family loved the recipes I provided to them and knowing how amazing they must have felt being praised.

Please feel free to leave a comment on a recipe or to email me. I’d love to hear from you!
