Welcome to The Taste of Kosher!

I created The Taste of Kosher in 2018 as a way to share easy and delicious recipes which wished I could find online.

When creating The Taste of Kosher I also decide that, in addition to having kosher and dairy free recipes, all my recipes would call for ingredients everyone has access to.

My belief is, you shouldn’t have to be a trained chef to make a cake you can be proud to serve your family.

I am recently learning just how much dairy is an issue for me.  I was kinda sad at first because all of my lovely recipes call for dairy but you give me so much hope now!

I couldn’t bake to save my life when I came upon your recipe for banana muffins. I made them and they were perfect. Then I made them again as banana bread and it was divine. Then I tried your chocolate cake and it was amazing! My family are blown away that I have become a decent baker overnight. I laugh when I think how many times I attempted banana bread and it was awful! Thanks so much.

I’ve been a foodie as far back as I can remember. I am not sure there was a time I wasn’t interested in cooking because my earliest memory of wanting to cook was when I was very young and the story Stone Soup was read to the class.

The first time I made a recipe I was 9 or 10 years old and making soup with my little brother. Then as we got older the two of us would watch cooking shows and experiment in the kitchen whenever possible.

I never imagined I’d start my own recipe site but when I was in grad school I complained to my mom that I couldn’t find the types of recipes I was looking for online. Being a if-you-find-a-problem-fix-it kind of person, she suggested I create my own site with my own recipes.

So, I did and I never looked back!

I just want to say thank you! I am a fearful baker- I can only manage boxed brownies, usually baking with a recipe makes me stressed. I told myself that I would attempt cookies and as a dairy free person its sometimes hard to find dairy free recipes. Thank you for allowing me to enjoy baking!

This was amazing! I can’t have dairy right now, since I am breastfeeding a baby with a cow’s milk protein intolerance. I was so sad that I couldn’t have so many of our family meals. Well, now I can have fried chicken with rice and gravey! I just used some of the oil from frying the chicken as my fat and it came out perfect! I had tried making gravey with milk alternative once, before I found this recipe, but it did not turn out well. I used Oatly and followed the recipe and my husband says he likes it just as much as the original, if not better! Thank you so much!

Since starting The Taste of Kosher, I’ve found one of the things I like most is connecting with my readers. I enjoy hearing how their family loved the recipes I provided to them and knowing how amazing they must have felt being praised.

Please feel free to leave a comment on a recipe or to email me. I’d love to hear from you!
